Duschen

I finnnnaaaalllly installed a shower head holder in our bathtub. It cost me 6 bucks and took about 10 minutes to install. Took the first shower in 7 months in our own apartment (OK, so I showered once at Sharon's, and a couple of times at the pool). Let me tell you, I feel more happy about that than many many other things. So here's a little piece of advice: if you go somewhere new, don't forget to make sure it has a shower. Or spend the 6 bucks and 10 minutes to put one in without waiting so long. You'll appreciate it.

Also Springtime is here. That makes me so silly.

Jackie thinks I'm nuts, but...
Here is a little plot of kindergarten costs as a percent of income. I pulled it out of the sheet of paper they gave us when we joined. I guess its the same in US, with the sliding income tax scale, but still it bugs me. Why not just a nice easy straight scale?? hm? Except the ratio of max to min is > 400%. Yes, its cheaper than if had brought kids to kindergarten in the states, so why complain? Well, because I can. Its definitely not cheaper to live here. Did you look at the US dollar vs. Euro exchange rate lately? Well, I did, and its not as awful as it was last couple of weeks, but it still lops off 30% of my pay in a single blow. Ouch that hurts.
